Extensive data on Evonik products

Substances such as carbon blacks and fumed silicas, which have been on the market for many years, are often classified as nanomaterials even though nanoparticles are only present in them in aggregates or agglomerates and not as separate particles.
REACH

Evonik is committed to product safety

There is a great deal of data on the safety of these substances. The first large-scale products to achieve full registration under the REACH Regulation, which requires particularly extensive datasets, were carbon blacks and synthetic amorphous silica. In view of the sound data base, the dossiers on carbon blacks and amorphous silica - both of which are produced by Evonik - have successfully been filed with the responsible agency in Helsinki (Finland).

Evonik was the "lead registrant" for both REACH consortia. Evonik's general opinion is that chemicals and thus nanomaterials are covered by the present laws and ordinances on the safety of products, for example on the safety of chemicals, medicines, food, cosmetics and detergents.
