Safe handling of titanium dioxide

On the basis of its long-standing experience, Evonik assumes that it can ensure safe production and handling of transparent titanium dioxide as a physical UV filter for sunscreens. A large number of in-house and independent studies provide evidence that titanium dioxide in sunscreens has no adverse effects on consumers.

Employees are not exposed to health risks in the production and handling of titanium dioxide, providing they observe the valid operating standards and industrial regulations on working with particulates. This opinion is supported by studies and measurements.
